This design system for CBC’s Being Black in Canada establishes a cohesive visual identity that aligns with CBC’s brand while celebrating Black Canadian culture and storytelling.
The work spans illustration, motion graphics and on-air design, creating a unified language across broadcast, digital and social platforms. A textured, layered approach combines rich blues, pinks and purples with expressive patterns and illustrated icons of people, bringing warmth, depth and cultural resonance to the visuals.
Motion supports rhythm and narrative flow while maintaining clarity and accessibility across editorial formats. Designed to be flexible and scalable, the system adapts across a range of stories and perspectives.
The result is a vibrant, inclusive identity that centres community and amplifies storytelling through bold, layered visual expression.
Integrity, creativity, and empathy shape the way we work.
